The Inn on the Green at Port Armor
offers 28 rooms overlooking the Port Armor Golf Course, the master
croquet courses, and Lake Oconee. The rooms are newly renovated in contemporary
Southern style. Port Armor on Lake Oconee is a 1,270-acre
master-planned residential lake and golf community located in the middle
of Georgia's Lake Country. With 19,000 acres and 375 miles of shoreline,
Lake Oconee is the second largest lake in Georgia, and remains one of Georgia's
best-kept secrets. Port Armor is easily accessible from Augusta and Atlanta,
a little more than an hour drive from each direction. It is located
conveniently off I-20, which allows easy driving access from these two
major cities. Additionally, Port Armor is 45 minutes south of the
growing city of Athens, and only 40 minutes north of Macon. Hartsfield
International Airport is 80 miles away and a private airport is located
in Greensboro. The Clubhouse restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and
dinner. Port Armor has two outdoor swimming pools, three master croquet
courts, and four, lighted tennis court. The full service Port Armor
Marina rents pontoon boats, sail boats, and can arrange guided fishing
tours or guided water sports on Lake Oconee. The Courtside Conference Room
seats between 60 and 80 people, depending on the arrangement. It
overlooks the croquet courts and Lake Oconee. It has a walk-out patio
for lunch or dinner. The Executive Conference Room seats 14 and is decorated
in contemporary Southern style. It opens to the fireside lobby, which
is available for coffee breaks. The Private Dining Room at the Clubhouse
is also available and seats approximately ten people in conference set-up.
The dining room overlooks the golf course, water fountain, and the shores
of Lake Oconee. The Port Armor Clubhouse can be rented for larger
functions. We are able to accommodate from 60 to 300 people for dinner
and receptions. Off site recreation - around Lake Oconee includes
horseback trail riding, skeet and trap shooting, mountain biking, hiking
trails, guided hunting, and hot air ballooning. The historic towns
of Greensboro, Madison, and Eatonton, all of which offer tours of antebellum
homes and antique shopping opportunities, surround Port Armor.
